   William Cabot and Ryan dislike each other; Cabot thinks Ryan is an arrogant know-it-all and Ryan thinks Cabot is lazy. Ryan looks up to Cabot as a mentor.
   Ryan and Cathy have been married for a long time. Ryan and Cathy are dating and later get engaged.

The villain is Dressler, a neo-Nazi. He wants a US-Russian war because he believes it will result in the creation of a pan-European fascist state.
