None of the terrorists have any doubt about the justification for their plan. One of the terrorist ringleaders expresses doubts about the plan; he is strangled.
At the end of the story, Ryan receives a sword from a Saudi prince, which leads to his future Secret-Service codename of SWORDSMAN. This doesn't happen.
Due to events which happened in the 1970s in the book Without Remorse, the man known as John Clark is really John Kelly, who had faked his own death and lives under a pseudonym. Given that John Clark was likely a child during the 1970s, there is no indication that John Clark is not his real name.

A Native-American terrorist is shot and killed by a police sniper, prompting his brother to join Bock's gang to take revenge. This doesn't happen.
