Paulie and Reacher arm wrestle after Reacher tells him that benchrest exercise is stupid. Reacher squeezes Paulie’s hand as hard as possible and can see that it hurts Paulie. It is a draw; Duke sends them to work. |
Paulie and Reacher arm wrestle after Reacher tells Paulie that benchrest exercise is stupid. While wrestling, Reacher lets go of Paulie’s hand and he punches himself in the face. Duke saves Reacher from a beating by sending him to retrieve a truck.

Reacher is sent to New London CT in a van. He meets Duffy and Eliot at a rest area. Eliot finds a short range tracker; they presume that Reacher has a tail using Route 1 which runs parallel to I-95. Eliot takes the tracker with him on I-95 so it will appear that Reacher has not stopped for too long. The van rear door lead seal is broken, they only find rugs. A DEA agent repairs the lead seal with a soldering iron. Duffy and Reacher continue in the van down south. Reacher asks for and Duffy gives him her government issue Glock 19. |
Reacher is tasked with driving a delivery van to New London. While driving Reacher contacts Duffy so she can meet him to inspect the van. The van rear door lock is picked. The van only has rugs in it. A drug dog does not find any drugs or a body. Duffy and Reacher continue in the van to New London while Villanueva uses his car to drive the van’s GPS unit ahead to keep it on time. Reacher does not ask for Duffy’s pistol. |

When bringing the other van from New London to Maine, Reacher stops at another rest area where Duffy and Eliot are waiting with a K9 unit. Nothing is found but rugs. |
Reacher is driving an empty van back up north.

After returning, Reacher sees Beck, Duke and Angel Doll at the warehouse. He tells them he found the tracker; he looks for thing like that out of habit. |
