Reacher Season 3 Book vs TV Show
In the Book |
In the TV Show |
Prior to tracking down Reacher, Duffy and her team screwed up by taking inadmissible photos of Beck and other criminals on private property without a warrant and the DEA disavowed her investigation. Duffy sent in an undercover female agent to spy on Beck; she disappeared seven weeks ago. Duffy is unable to locate Beck’s home because she is working off-book. |
A week prior to tracking down Reacher, Agent Duffy put a confidential informant by the name of Teresa Daniels into the employ of Zachary Beck. It is an off the book project after Duffy and her team (especially Eliot) screwed up collecting inadmissible evidence on Beck. But Teresa Daniels disappeared right after she went to work for Beck. Duffy wants Reacher to look for Teresa at Beck's estate when he gets there. |
Duffy, Eliot, Reacher and five DEA agents plan the fake kidnapping of Richard Beck. |
Duffy, Villanueva, Elliot and Reacher plan the fake kidnapping and rescue shown in the beginning.
|
Duffy is holding the driver and bodyguard in a safe house. Four DEA agent take turns guarding them. They do not beat the prisoners. |
Duffy is holding Richard Beck’s bodyguard in a remote safe house, but he is not talking even after Duffy beats him. The bodyguard is kept handcuffed to a chair the entire time. Eliot is the only one guarding him. |
Reacher searches the Beck house basement when he has chance; he finds no sign of Duffy’s missing agent. Later when he searches the estate some more, he finds the word “justice” and yesterday’s date scratched into the floor under a bed in what appeared to be a prison cell. Later Duffy tells Reacher, when he asks, that the missing agent’s real name is Teresa Justice. |
Reacher sneaks out of the third story bedroom he is locked in the first night. He enters the hidden cellar he found in the barn the previous day and finds evidence that Teresa Daniels was there. He reports this to Agent Duffy. Reacher barely makes it back in time to this room before Duke checks on him.
|
This does not happen in the book. Angel Doll merely uses his computer to runs the plates and VIN of the vehicle Reacher used. |
Duke sends Reacher to check out the pickup used in the kidnap attempt. Agent Duffy needs to get the bodyguard’s Audi out of the impound lot before Beck finds out a real grenade was not used to “kill” the bodyguard. Angel Doll notices how clean the Audi is and that it has the wrong plates (Duffy switched them). |
