In the Book In the Movie
   Peeta injures his leg so badly it is amputated. Peeta keeps his leg.
   Peeta gives Katniss the burned bread after she is told to go away from the garbage cans by his mother. She is starving and it is only a short time after her father died. She was 12 at the time. Katniss and Peeta appear to be 16 or 17 when she gets the bread from him.
   The mayor reads the history of the Hunger Games during the Reaping in District 12. A film is shown that gives the history.
   During their training, Peeta and Katniss dress the same. The other tributes do not. They are given a number to pin onto their clothes to indicate their district. Everyone is wearing matching uniforms. The uniforms have the district numbers stenciled on them.
