This Spoils the Ending
In the Graphic Novel In the Movie
This is not in the book. Bastian and Kat perform together at the Grammys. Kat holds his hand after the song, Charlie is clearly upset when watching the show on TV. Charlie goes to meet Kat after the award show. Charlie is concerned that social media says Kat is back with Bastian. Charlie is insecure and says he does not fit with Kat and their relationship will not work. Kat gets upset. Charlie leaves alone.
Ana and Guy appear to have a solid and trusting relationship. Kat writes a song for Charlie; it goes to #1 on the charts. They seem to be separated for a while.
Ana never considered getting back with any of her ex-boyfriends. Kat appears on Jimmy Fallon's show with Bastian. Jimmy suggests that Kat and Bastian will get back together. During a commercial break, Kat tells Bastian that they are through; she leaves the show during a commercial break.
This does not happen in the book. Kat rushes to the airport to fly to Peoria to see Charlie at a math competition. Kat begs Charlie to take her back by holding up a sign that says “marry me, again”. He says yes.
Anastasia and Guy marry. Several months later Anastasia and Janny are preparing for a charity concert; Anastasia is very pregnant. Kat and Charlie's real marriage is not shown.
