In the Book In the Movie
Lydia and Chris know right away that Madame Doubtfire is their father in drag. At first they don't know it is him. It is only when Chris sees Mrs. Doubtfire standing up to pee that he has to come clean.
Daniel does not swear in the dinner scene in the book. In the film, Daniel does swear in the dinner scene.
All the main characters, apart from Natalie, tend to act in self-interest and expect a large amount of credit whenever they do otherwise. This doesn't happen in the film.
