This Spoils the Ending
In the Movie In the Video Game
Indy is alone when attempting to retrieve the Cross of Coronado. Herman is with him, and also during the train chase.
The grave robbers catch Indy stealing the Cross after he accidentally kicks a rock while climbing out of the cave. It is because Herman accidentally drops the rope with Indy on it.
The grave robbers are accompanied by a younger kid by the name of Roscoe, who engages in a knife fight with Indy on the train. Roscoe doesn't appear.
Indy uses his own horse to escape the cave. Two horses are sitting in a nearby pen, presumably belonging to the grave robbers.
The grave robbers help Indy out of the lion's den and then demand he give them the Cross, where he escapes once again. Indy and Herman subdue the lion with the whip and run into the next room and the confrontation with the robbers doesn't happen.
Indy makes it back to his house with the Cross only to have the grave robbers with their attorney, Panama Hat, and the local sheriff tell him that Panama Hat is the rightful owner of the Cross. Garth then expresses his impression at Indy and gives him his hat. Indy and Herman make it back with the cross and don't get confronted by the grave robbers again. Erasing the Vasquez de Coronado section from the story.
How exactly Henry Jones Sr. was captured is kept vague. We get a small cutscene showing him being knocked out with a wrench and dragged away by a German agent.
Indy meets with Brody at Marshall College and is then encountered by men in suits who take him to Donovan. Both of these are omitted.
Indy is alone when meeting Donovan. Brody accompanies him.
Kazim knocks out Brody with a Mauser C96 pistol He does it with a book.
Indy and Elsa escape on a speed boat and are pursued by Kazim and the other members of the Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword. It is Indy and Elsa who chase Kazim on the boats.
Other members chase Indy and Elsa during the boat chase. It's just between Indy, Elsa and Kazim.
Indy, Elsa and Brody return to the their apartments to find them ransacked, where Indy reveals that he had possession of his father's Grail diary. Indy and Elsa also have a fleeting moment of affection and passion. All of this is omitted.
Indy punches out the Castle Brunwald butler and hides his body offscreen. Indy punches him out and locks him out of the castle doors.
Indy is alone when he meets up with Henry. Elsa is with them.
An SS Officer and two guards enter Henry's room and confronts Indy and Henry, causing Indy to grab one of their guns and mow them all down. Vogel is the one who enters the room and holds Elsa hostage.
Indy and Henry are taken to Donovan, where it is revealed that he is working with the Nazis. This reveal isn't shown.
Brody travels to Iskenderun to seek Sallah's help and is captured ultimately by the Nazis. This scene is omitted.
Vogel gives the German way of saying goodbye (a punch to the face) to Indy. He gives it to Henry.
Henry attempts to burn through their holding ropes with his lighter, which accidentally sets the room on fire. They burn through the ropes with a knocked over candle on the dining table, which is what causes the fire.
Indy falls down the spiral staircase by it opening under his feet. Henry pushes him down.
Indy comes face to face with Adolf Hitler at the rally, who mistakes him for an officer and signs the Grail Diary. This scene is omitted.
Indy takes the uniform of a staff member aboard the D-138 zeppelin. He wears his normal attire.
Indy and Henry meet with Sallah in Hatay. They meet him on the German border.
Kazim and the other members are slaughtered by the Nazis. They live.
Henry enters the tank to rescue Brody and is soon confronted by Vogel, who holds him against his will. Henry is absent through the tank fight.
Sallah and Indy ride horses to catch up to the tank. Sallah and Indy drive a truck with a plow on the front that is blown up by Vogel using a bazooka.
Brody is in the tank during the fight and is rescued. He isn't, but he does appear with the rest of them in the next level.
Henry is tearful and hugs Indy upon realizing he wasn't killed during the tank fight. He appears disapproving and mildly smacks him in the back of the head.
All the Nazis are inside the Temple of the Sun. Some Nazis guard the outside.
A Hatay soldier is decapitated by the Breath of God. It's a typical Nazi soldier.
Indy goes alone to confront the three challenges of the Grail. Sallah goes with him.
Elsa chooses the cup for Donovan (knowing it will kill him). Donovan picks his own cup.
He doesn't. The Grail Knight attacks Indy.
Elsa falls down the chasm and Indy grabs onto her arm. Her desire to have the Grail causes her to not give her other arm to Indy so he can pull her to safety and she falls to her death. Elsa falls down the chasm right away.
Indy tries to reach for the Grail in the same predicament as Elsa, but Henry tells him to "let it go," which he ultimately does. Indy and everyone else leave immediately.
The Grail Knight waves goodbye to the Joneses and awaits the incoming collapse of the temple. The Knight is not seen again after Indy drinks from the Grail.
Donovan holds a meet with the Sultan of Hatay to gain his support. This meeting is never shown and the Sultan doesn't appear.
