He periodically passes out at home, while working and driving which caused a minor accident. He is taking Burkett corporation medications that might be causing his medical problems.

She searches on foot, then is assaulted and detained by two men who bring her to talk to Corey Rudzinski. Abby visits him at his home where he tells about meeting her mother, but he did not know she was pregnant.

Maya confronts Ona Douglass, the wife of Tom Douglass about the $10,000 a month payments from the Burketts for many years. She gets no information from her other than that Tom is away and she does not know where he is. Tom was the Coast Guard officer in charge of the investigation into Andrew Burkett’s death. |
Tommy Dark’s wife Ona calls Maya and says she needs to talk to her. Tommy had been receiving 9000 pounds a month for the last 20 years from the Burkett family since the death of Andrew Burkett when he fell off of the yacht. Tommy was the captain of the family’s yacht and has been missing for six weeks. Maya argues with Judith about these events.

Dan finds a document related to a DNA test that he had as a child. They go to the website; it shows a connection to a half sibling. Maya tells Dan and Abby that they have a half brother that is about 19 now. |

A young man (Louis) gets an e-mail alert that says Claire Walker check his DNA profile. He later meets Abby at the sports center and says he was hanging out with her mom to try to get to know her. Claire was killed soon after he saw her for the last time while touring a private school.

Corey and Maya go to Tom Douglass’ storage unit and open it. It stinks from his rotting corpse. She sends Corey away and calls 911. She tells the police she was acting on a tip and saw an arm sticking out of the door. |
Corey and Maya go to Tommy’s rented storage unit. They find Tommy Dark’s corpse in a freezer in the storage unit. The police are called, they find Maya there, but not Corey. Maya asks Kierce about the 9000 pounds he gets each months, he denies that he is getting anything. |
When Maya is questioned by the police about Tom Douglass’s death, she does not admit that Corey was with her. |
Kierce brings Maya into the police station to question her about blood in her car that could match Tommy Dark’s blood. When they ask about the man in her car on the way to Dark’s storage unit, she tells him Corey was with her. She tells them about her investigation into the Burketts and suggests that Corey planted Dark’s blood in her car.

Corey hacks into the police station computers and locks them up. Kierce and McGreggor search for him. Kierce breaks into Corey’s hideout in the forest. Corey ambushes him, runs away, then is arrested by Kierce. |
Maya tracked down Christopher Swain’s e-mail and sends him a message. Later, he calls her and asks Maya to meet him at his rehab center. Swain tells Maya that Joe was a monster who attacked boys he felt threatened by. Swain says they tied Theo down to make him chug beer, but Joe switched to grain alcohol. Joe forced Andrew to help him put Theo’s body in the school basement after he died. Weeks later while they were out on the yacht, Andrew said he wanted them to confess to causing Theo’s death. Later on, Andrew went topside on the yacht, Joe followed him. Swain thinks Joe pushed Andrew overboard. |
Judith gives Maya the name of the most exclusive rehab center in the area, so she can track down Christopher Swain after he was arrested for multiple DUI’s but never prosecuted. Maya finds him in rehab where he tells her that Joe murdered Andrew. Swain goes on to explain that they forced vodka down Theo Maro’s throat which caused him to die. Swain claims Joe killed Andrew to stop him from confessing to killing Theo.

After leaving the rehab center, several men in a van try to kidnap Maya after forcing her car off of the road. She shoots/kills one man, the others drive away. She takes the dead man’s wallet, hides the body in a ditch then drives away. She smashes her cell phone to prevent it from tracking her, then buys another phone at a store. |

Maya arranges for Eddie to take Lily to and from daycare. Maya and Eddie exchange license plates on their cars in case Maya plates are flagged by the police for an arrest. |

Kierce and McGreggor chase PJ, the son of the soccer coach though a building and up onto a rooftop. PJ admits to being out stealing handbags with a friend named Rambottom (Rambo). His friend killed Joe when they robbed him. Kierce starts to pass out, PJ tries to save him, but falls off of the roof and is badly injured. Kierce is suspended. Kierce tells McGreggor about the Buckett company medical fraud. |
Maya finds Izabella and her brother then ambushes them in their truck. She pistol whips them both. Izabella claims her mother told them that Maya killed Joe, so they faked the video of Joe on the nanny cam SD card. They did it so Maya would question her sanity. |
Maya plants a tracking device on Izabella’s brother’s vehicle. When she finds them later on, Maya holds Luka and Izzabella at gunpoint; she threatens Izabella and pistol whips her brother until they admit to faking the nanny cam footage of Joe. They superimposed Joe’s face over Luka’s body. Judith thought Maya was lying about Joe’s death.

Shane shows up while Maya is threatening Izabella and her brother. He knows that the same gun was used to kill Claire and Joe because Maya had given him a spent bullet from her revolver and asked him to get it compared to the bullet found in her sister’s body. |
A flashback shows Maya giving Shane a fired bullet from her hidden Glock 17 to compare to the bullet found in Claire’s body. After she finds out her gun was used to kill Claire, she determines that Joe had killed Claire. |
Maya lured Joe to the park. She had switched around her two 38 caliber revolvers stored in the gun safe so that she had the one Joe used on Claire and Joe had the other one with the firing pin removed. After Maya told Joe that she knew he killed Claire, Joe tried to shoot her, but his gun would not fire. Maya then murdered Joe. Maya dumped the murder weapon in the river and reassembled the other registered revolver and put it back in the safe. |
Maya switched her deactivated Glock 17 with her illegal and functioning Glock 17. Joe takes the deactivated pistol to meet Maya in the park. After Maya confronts/accuses Joe in the park, Joe tries to shoot her, but his gun doesn’t work. Maya murders him then.

Kierce questions Rambo who tells him that he saw Maya murder Joe. Kierce has her car tracked to Lily’s daycare, Kierce goes there to find that Eddie has picked up Lily and that Maya is at home. |

When Judith, Niel and Caroline return home, Maya admits to killing Joe. Judith admits that Joe murdered Claire because she “tried to destroy us” by exposing their medical fraud. Neil admits to sending men to kidnap Maya after she left Swain. Maya tells Judith that Joe killed Theo Mora, Tom Douglass and his brother Andrew. Judith is shocked at the revelation that Joe killed Andrew. Neil shoots Maya three times. |
Maya sneaks into Judith Burkett’s house to confront her along with Niel and Caroline. Judith admits that Claire had evidence of Burkett medical fraud and Joe’s murder of Andrew. Judith knows that Joe was evil. Judith suggests that everything (faulty drugs) is blamed on Joe. Niel shoots and kills Maya.

Judith, Neil and Caroline follow Maya’s dying gaze towards the fireplace and see the nanny cam she placed there. The shooting was live streamed to the internet. Maya dies. |

25 years later Shane thinks back to Maya actions on the day of her death. She went to the Burkett house unarmed so they would not be able to claim self defense if they tried to kill her. Maya claimed she never felt guilty about the civilian deaths in Iraq and she would do it again to protect her fellow soldiers. |
Corey tells Kierce that Maya was atoning for her war crimes by setting herself up to be murdered by the Burketts.

25 years later Shane meets Eileen at the hospital. He thinks about the Burkett murder going live over the internet and how later on Corey was able to help bring down corrupt governments and businesses later in his career as a whistle blower. Eddie has remarried, his kids Dan and Alexa are successfully employed. Lily has given birth to a baby she names Maya. |
18 years later Kierce is shown going into a hospital. He and Eddie meet an adult Lily who has just given birth to a daughter she will name Maya. |
