THIS WAS ALL THE CAMERLENGO NEEDED TO KNOW FOR HIM TO KILL THE POPE, AS HE THOUGHT THE POPE HAD BROKEN HIS VOW TO GOD. WITHOUT WANTING TO HEAR THE FULL STORY, THE CAMERLENGO KILLS THE POPE, BUT ONLY IN THE END WHEN CARDINAL MORTATI REVEALS TO HIM THE TRUTH THAT THE POPE HAD NOT REALLY BROKEN HIS VOW AND THAT THE POPE WAS HIS REAL FATHER THROUGH ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION DID THE CAMERLENGO REALIZE WHAT HE HAD DONE. |
