In the Book In the Movie
   Crane is inspired to court Katrina by her beauty as well as her family's wealth. Crane does not initially pursue Katrina's affections, and is not shown to be materialistically interested when he does.
   The Horseman's head is rumoured to have been taken off by a cannonball. The Horseman was decapitated with a sword.
   After Crane disappears, Brom Bones marries Katrina. Brom is killed by the Horseman. In the end, Katrina moves to New York with Crane.
