Gandalf never goes to Dol Guldur. He infiltrates the Necromancer’s stronghold in Dol Guldur.
Legolas does not appear in the Hobbit. He does. He is one of the wood elves who take Thorin and the others captive.
There is no femaile Woodland Elf named Tauriel. There is.
The dwarves are sealed inside barrels as they escape from the Elven King's Hall by floating down the river. They arrive at Lake Town where Bilbo opens the barrels to release them. They are not sealed, but ride down the river with their heads sticking out.
The dwarves were taken to Beorn's house by Gandalf and introduced to Beorn one or two at a time. They were chased to Beorn's house by Beorn himself.
The dwarves crossed a river in Mirkwood that Beorn warned them not to drink from and Bombur fell in. They didn't cross any rivers in Mirkwood.
The dwarves got lost in Mirkwood and rand out of food. They approached the woodland elves, who were feasting in the forest, for help and were captured. The dwarves were captured by the elves who were hunting spiders.
The dwarves were held captive for one or two weeks in different parts of the elves palace. Thorin was hidden deep and far from the rest and was the last rescued. The dwarves are held captive for a day or two, all close by each other. Bilbo rescues Thorin first.
While Bilbo packs the dwarves into the barrels, the elves are the ones who release the barrels into the river. Bilbo releases the barrels into the river.
The barrel-riding dwarves don't get trapped by a gate on the river. The barrel-riding dwarves get trapped by a gate on the river.
The sealed barrels are collected a little ways downstream by river elves and lashed into rafts, which they then drive to Laketown. Bilbo hides on a corner of the raft. The open barrels are chased down river by orcs.
No dwarves were injured between Mirkwood and Laketown A dwarf gets shot by an orc arrow.
On arrival in Laketown and after being released from the barrels by Bilbo, the dwarves publicly announce themselves to the city Master and crowd. The dwarves slink around town aided by Bard, the barge driver.
Bard was a captain of the archers. Bard was a lowly barge driver.
Bard doesn't enter the story until after Smaug leaves the mountain. Bard and his children aid the dwarves and tend the wounded.
It took the dwarves over a week from when they left Laketown until they found the secret entrance to the Lonely Mountain. It took the dwarves one day to get from Laketown to the mountain and find the secret entrance.
The secret entrance was hidden and a barely recognizable trail led to it. The "secret" entrance was within a sculpted dwarven statue with elaborate steps leading up to it.
The setting sun activated the keyhole. The rising moon activated the keyhole.
Bilbo went into the secret tunnel twice. The first time he saw Smaug and took a cup back to the dwarves. When Smaug realized this, he flew out to find the theif. The dwarves heard him coming and hid in the tunnel and Smaug ate 6 of their ponies. The next day on his second trip, Bilbo talked with Smaug. After taunting him, the dragon sneaked out, destroyed the secret entrance while the dwarves were hiding in the tunnel and flew off to laketown. Bilbo went in once.
The dwarves never saw the dragon, but heard him in the mountain and saw his flames as they dashed into the secret tunnel to hide. The dwarves battle the dragon in the mountain and Thorin even stands on his head.
Bilbo didn't find the Arkenstone until after the dragon was killed. Bilbo finds the Arkenstone on his first trip.
While the dwarves were prisoners of the elves, Bilbo wore the ring the entire time. He frequently sneaked out of the palace. Bilbo stayed in the palace the entire time.
Thranuil and other elves, leave the palace to go hunting, feasting or on business while the dwarves are captives. Thranuil locked down the palace and allowed no one to leave except by his permission.
When the dwarves are captured by the Woodland elves, Thorin is kept far way from the other dwarves. Thorin is not kept far away.
