Total Recall Book vs Movie
In the Book |
In the Movie |
Doug sent a letter to Rekall explaining that he wants to remember going to Mars and being a member of Interplan, the government spy agency. |
Doug just goes to Rekall and wants to go to Mars. They offer Saturn, but he insists on Mars. The salesman sells him on the idea of becoming a secret agent in the memory. |
Rekall cannot find room to implant the memories and Doug calmly lays on the bed and informs them that they are blowing his cover. He relaxes and they go through the process again to reset his memories. |
Doug starts freaking out and tries to escape from the chair. He is sedated and they erase his memories and put him in a cab.
|
Doug remembers Rekall and returns to get a full refund. |
Doug exits the taxi and his coworker Harry is there. He pulls a gun and a bunch of goons grab him. Harry talks about blabbing about Mars. Doug eventually beats them all to death. |
Doug uses snuff. |
He doesn't.
|
Doug has a bug in his head that Interplan uses to read his thoughts. He leaves it in place to communicate with them. |
The bug in Doug's head is only used to track his location. He painfully removes it through his nostril. |
