In the Book In the Movie
Max dreams of becoming a boxer and fighting Hitler. He doesn't have this dream.
Rudy finds out about Max after he has left the basement. Rudy sees Max's name written on one of Liesel's books and discovers the secret of Max while he is still in the basement.
The Hubermann's have two adult children. They do not.
Hans Jr. tells his father that Liesel should be reading Mein Kamph and he should join the Nazis. He isn't in the film but others tell Hans he should join the party.
The Mayor and his wife, Ilsa don't use Rosa's laundry anymore because they are trying to show they want to save money. The Mayor wants to protect Ilsa from getting too close to Liesel so she isn't hurt in case anything happens.

I think the book was an exceptionally good pass-time. I would recommend this work of art to anyone from the age of thirteen to death.
