In the Book In the Movie
   Harry sees Voldemort and Wormtail discussing their plans in his dreams. Barty Crouch Jr. is also present in the dreams.
   Harry spends the beginning of the story at home with the Dursley's. He wakes up from his first nightmare there. He isn't with the Dursley's and he wakes up at the Burrow from the bad dream.
   Hermione comes to wake up Harry and Ron on the day of the Quidditch World Cup. Mrs. Weasley wakes them up along with Ref and George.
   The portkey is only used by Arthur and those too young to apparate. Everyone went together to the World cup via the portkey.
   Harry and the others get to sit in box seats wtih Fudge during the world cup. They sit in regular seats.
   Harry and the others are supporting Ireland during their match. They don't seem to favor either side.
   The attacks by the death eaters begin after everyone is sleeping. They begin while they are all awake and still celebrating the Quidditch match in the tent.
   The Dark Mark was cast by someone to scare away the Death Eaters for disloyalty. It is unknown at the time who cast the spell. Barty Crouch Jr. is seen casting the Dark Mark. It is cast as a calling sign that the Death Eaters are responsible for the destruction.
   Harry, Ron and Hermione are separated from the others as they escape into the forest. Only Harry gets separated and he passes out.
   Harry's Wand is stolen during the Quidditch match and Crouch Jr. uses it. It isn't stolen, so Barty doesn't use it.
   Crouch Sr. blames Winky for the Dark Mark and fires her. He blames Harry, Ron and Hermione for it and gets angry with them.
   Hermione tells Crouch about seeing a man in the woods who conjured the Mark. Harry tells him instead.
   Harry writes to Sirius about his nightmare and scar pain after he first experienced it at the Dursley's. Only after the attack at the world cup does Harry write Sirius after Hermione tells him he should.
   The Hogwarts student return to school in September. A month later, in October, the students from Beauxbaton and Durmstrang arrive in preparation the Goblet of Fire. The other schools arrive on the same night as the Hogwarts students.
   Fred, George and their friend, Lee Jordan take an aging potion. Fred and George try to cross the line and enter themselves in the Goblet. They don't get upset when they fail. Lee doesn't use the aging potion and the twins get angry and fight when they fail to enter the Goblet.
   Dumbledore is calm when Harry's name comes out of the goblet. He is clearly upset and yells for Harry to come with him. He is a little rough in handling Harry during their exchange about his name being pulled.
   Malfoy, Crabbe nad Goyle want Cedric to win. They throw their support behind Krum.
   Draco is mocking Ron's father when Harry stands up for him causing Malfoy to attempt to jinx him. He is then turned into a ferret by Moody. He is mocking Harry's chances in the tournament.
   All of Gryffindor, besides Ron are supportive of Harry being in the tournament. Only Neville and Hermione are on his side at first.
   The three unforgivable curses are demonstrated by Moody on separate spiders. He does them all on a single one.
   Rita Skeeter is an unregisterd Animagus and she uses her skill to eavesdrop on people she wants to write about. This is left out.
   Skeeter interviews Colin Creevy and suggests that Harry and Hermione are romantically involved. A photo is taken when Hermione hugs Harry before the fist task. This is what is used to suggest that Harry and Hermione are involved.
   Harry uses his flying skill to grab the egg the Dragon is guarding during the first task. Harry gets the dragon to leave the area and chase him. It eventually smashes into a bridge so Harry can go and retrieve the egg.
   Seamus takes Lavender to the Yule Ball. Draco takes Pansy Parkinson. Both boys go with unnamed Beauxbatons students.
   The second task began on the shore of the lake. They started on a platform built in the middle of the water.
   Dobby gives Harry the gillyweed for the second task. Neville gives it to him.
   There is no indication that Moody is Crouch Jr. He has a tick where he flicks his tongue out like a snake that his father recognizes.
   Harry and Viktor are discussing Hermione when Harry discovers Crouch Sr. Harry is with Hagrid, Ron and Hermione when they find him.
   Harry watches in the Pensieve as Barty Crouch Sr. sends him son to Azkaban. The son begged not to go, but the father was proud to punish him. They are reversed and the son doesn't beg and the father is saddened by the turn of events.
   Arthur doesn't attent the tournament. Molly and Bill attend the third task with Cedric's father. Arthur is there with Amos Diggory and Molly and Bill do not appear at all.
   Harry is rescued from the roots of the maze by Cedric. Harry saves Cedric.
   There are many magical creatures in the maze. There are none. The maze itself comes alive.
   Krum uses Crucio on Cedric. He uses Stupefy.
   Harry asks Cedric where they are when they are ported to the graveyard. Cedric asks the question.
   Dumbledore stuns Barty/Moody. He uses the disarming spell.
   Harry is tied up with rope in the graveyard. A statue is made to hold Harry with its scythe.
   Wormtail and Barty Crouch Jr. do not use Voldemort's real name. They do.
   Voldemort was reborn with red eyes and was naked. His eyes were blue and he had robes on.
   After Voldemort comes back to life, he sees Harry and strokes his cheek. He touches his scar.
   The polyjuice wears off and Crouch Jr. is himself when they use veritaserum to question him. He is still disguised as Moody during the interrigation.
   Harry and Ron including their dates to the Yule Ball sit with Percy Weasley at a table until the event is over with. Only Harry and Ron including their dates to the Yule Ball are sitting with each other; Percy Weasley is never mentioned in the movie.
   Sirius Black tells Harry, Ron, and Hermione about how Crouch Sr. had led people to defeat Lord Voldemort and other dark wizards. Crouch Sr.'s personal life was hardly mentioned except for the sending of his son to Azkaban.
   For the third task, Harry is told from a source that he is to go to the Quidditch stadium to prepare for his third task. Harry is never told from any source about preparing for his third task and only has Mad-Eye Moody to help him before it starts.
   Both Dobby and Winky are in the movie. Neither one of them are even in the movie.
   The Pensieve isn't mentioned until the very end of the book towards the third challenge. The Pensieve is shown right after Harry is announced that he is the fourth Triwizard Champion and Dumbledore is seen using it.
   Harry buys Hermione, Ron, and Harry omnioculars for the Quidditch World Cup. Only Ron has one in the movie.
   Arthur is seen talking to Barty in the fireplace in the beginning of the movie. Arthur is barely seen in the beginning of the movie and this doesn't happen at all`
   Ron doesn't really talk to Harry during the time he is jealous of him. Actually, Ludo Bagman gives him a lot of the hints throughout the book Ron is the one giving the hint to Harry about the first task. Ludo Bagman is barely mentioned in the movie at all.
   Sirius gives Harry a hint about using simple spells to get past the dragons. Then Moody tells him that if he's good at flying then he should just "accio" the Firebolt to him during the task. Sirius doesn't even know that Harry is going up against dragons by the time they talk in the fire. Instead, Moody gives him the tip of flying. Also, it is never explained as to how Harry gets the Firebolt in the first place when he actually does battle the dragon
   Moody has a wooden peg for a leg. He has a mechanical leg
   Fred and George make a bet that Ireland will win despite the fact that Krum will catch the snitch. The actual Quidditch match is barely even seen in the movie. Nor is the Veela or the leprechauns and there is nothing about the fake gold.
   Ron tries to scuff up his dress robe because it's too lacy and frilly. Ron doesn't do that at all in the movie. He just kind of sulks about his dress robe.
   Professor McGonagall tells Harry before the dance that he will be the first to dance along with the other champions. Professor McGonagall tells Harry the night of the dance.
   Madame Maxime gets angry with Hagrid for calling her a giant. It's not even mentioned that Madame Maxime is a giant.
   The Pensieve is already somewhat revealed in the book because Dumbledore didn't completely shut the cabinet that it is contained. Harry knocks open the cabinet where the Pensieve is located.
   It is believed that Barty Crouch Jr. is actually dead because his mother had replaced him in Azkaban and Barty Crouch had let his son out of Azkaban. Dumbledore says to call Azkaban to tell them that they are probably missing a prisoner.
   Ludo Bagman introduces and commentates the Quidditch World Cup. Cornelius Fudge begins the match
   Ludo Bagman No mention of him in the entire film
   Lee Jordan is with the Weasley twins as they attempt crossing the Age Line Nowhere to be seen
   Both Beauxbatons and Durmstrang are co-ed. Beuxbatons is a girls-only school, and Durmstrang only has male students
   Harry overhears that Barty Crouch Jr. has had his soul sucked out by the Dementors. This doesn't happen.
   Harry and Cedric are initially unaware that Krum is under the Imperius Curse inside the maze. Harry realises. He shouts to Cedric that he is 'bewitched'.
   Harry gets the gillyweed 10 minutes before the second task. He only just makes it in time for the task. He gets it the night before, so he is in plenty of time arriving for the task.
   Everyone checks in with Ministry officials upon arrival at the World Cup. This isn't shown.
   Mrs. Weasley gives Ron his dress robes before the start of school. Ron has the robes delivered to him in school by owl post.
   The incantation remained unknown, possibly because Harry has never heard of this spell before, therefore could not see it in his dreams. He learns about it halfway through the book Voleemort is heard using the Killing Curse in Harry's dream.
   Harry sends Sirius owls all throughout the year and keeps contact, even one time meet in a cave to catch up. Sirius gives him tips on the Tournament and helps figure out what's going on. This is rarely happening.

   Hermione tells Moody about Avada Kadavra when Moody asks the class for the Unforgiveable curses. Hermione is angry when Moody asks her for the third unforgiveable curse, so she doesn't want to respond.
