   Van Helsing presses the wafer on Mina's head to bless her, not knowing it would burn her and Mina does not try to seduce and kill him. Mina tries to seduce and kill Van Helsing and he presses a communion wafer on her head to defend himself from the attack.
   Dracula is not shown to particularly love Mina or any other woman from his past. Dracula falls in love with Mina because he believes she is a reincarnation of his dead sweetheart, Elisabeta.

   Jonathan Harker's hair turns gray at Seward's asylum after the Count places Harker in an trance and consumes Mina's blood. Harker returns from Transylvania with gray hair, apparently as consequence of having been bitten by the vampire brides
   The book ends when Jonathan Harker and Quincy Morris chase down Dracula's coffin, stab his heart and behead him before the sun sets. They are unable to reach his coffin before the sun sets, and so Dracula breaks free for one final struggle in the castle's chapel.
