Javert gets Valjean a carriage and accompanies him on the way to take the wounded Marius home, even stopping to wipe the blood off of Marius's face with his own rag.
Javert let's Valjean past him at the sewers to carry Marius home, and then takes his own life.
Valjean is buried in an unmarked grave at a distant corner of the Pere-Lachaise cemetery.
