   Mickey Haller is Half Mexican. He is played by Matthew McConaughey who has no Mexican heritage.
   Mickey lost his license because of a DUI but he is not an out of control alcoholic. He has much more problems with alcohol.
   Jesus Menendez id's Roulet as a murderer. He is renamed Jesus Martinez and he doesn't ID Roulet.
   Minton is a green felony prosecutor, and he is disagreeable, underhanded, and sometimes whiny. He is played by Josh Lucas and is generally likable.
   The judge is a sassy, hard-ass woman with a chain-smoking issue. It is a man.
   The MC Club are asked to watch out for Roulet by Haller but are not called into action The MC Club are more prominant
   The Police are watching Haller's home and arrive just after the incident No Police presence at Haller's home
   Haller doesn't tell his driver(s) where he lives He tells his driver to take him home
   Haller still cares for both ex's, but he does not sleep with them after the divorces. Haller and his ex-wife Maggie drink at a bar then end up at home sleeping together.
   After finding out Roulet is out on bail for the murder of Donna Renteria, Haller calls his ex-wife Maggie to let her know that Roulet had threatened them in the past and to tell her to get out of town. He asks bondsman Valenzuela to track Roulet and let him know where he goes. He also calls the road Saints biker club for support; they agree to help, but the action is over before they arrive. When Haller finds out Roulet is out on bail for the murder of Donna Renteria, he rushes to Maggie's house; Haller had already told her to leave the city. Haller confronts Roulet when he arrives; they both threaten each other. The Road Saints biker gang rides up; they trash Roulet's car and brutally assault him. Haller tells them to put Roulet in the hospital, not the morgue.
   Haller starts to leave for Maggie and his daughter's house, but is confronted by and shot by Mary Windsor. Haller believes she was not raped years ago and that she murdered Levin. Haller shoots and kills her. The police rush in; they had been using Haller as bait. Roulet is arrested again and will probably go down for several other murders. Haller goes home where he is confronted by Mary Windsor. She shoots Haller with his Colt Woodsman while claiming to have murdered Frank Levin. Haller shoots and kills Mary Windsor.
   Haller spends months recuperating and is broke from legal and medical bills. Jesus Martinez and Louis Roulet are both suing him for legal malpractice. Martinez was released from prison with a pardon, but has AIDS. Haller gets out of the hospital. He learns that Martinez is out of prison. The DA is going for the death penalty on Louis Roulet for the murder of Donna Renteria.
   The California bar suspended Haller for 90 days for conduct unbecoming of an attorney for borrowing Earl's gun that he used to kill Mary Windsor. Haller regrets killing her but hopes to be practicing the next year. Not a happy ending. Haller is pulled over by the Road Saints. One of their guys was arrested for a drug bust; Haller offers to represent him for free. Happy ending.
