   The book begins in Kansas the story begins in Harlem, New York
   Oz is a beautiful land Oz resembles New York in every way
   The Good Witch sends Dorothy down the Yellow Brick Road to find the Wiz Dorothy has to FIND the Yellow Brick Road after Miss One and the Munchkins send her on the way to find the Wiz
   The Scarecrow is simply hanging from his pole in the cornfield he is hanging from a laundry pole
   The Tin Man is found rusted solid He is an abandoned part of Coney Island, being crushed by a giant statue
   The Lion Jumps out of the forest He is hidden inside a pedestal of a lion statute in front of the New York library
   The Kalidahs are enormous beasts with the bodies of bears and the heads of tigers They are little puppets that grow into huge bouncy puppet creatures
   The travelers are attacked by wolves sent by the Witch. The Tin Man chops their heads off with his ax the Scarecrow is attacked by enchanted garbage cans withsharp teeth. Lion destroys them and saves him
   The trees in the forest on the way to the south attack Scarecrow They are beams in the subway that attack Dorothy
   The Witch lives in a castle She runs a sweatshop
   The travelers are put to sleep in a poppy field The poppies are a group of dancing prostitutes selling poppy scented perfume
   The Witch has no name other than The Wicked Witch of the West Her first name is Evillene
   The Witch's flying monkeys are regular monkeys with wings The Flying Monkeys are the name of a motorcycle gang
   The flying monkeys unstuff Scarecrow and throws his clothes in a tree. They drop the Tin Man on sharp rocks, battering him. And they tie the Lion up. Evillene has Scarecrow embalmed, Tin Man flattened and Lion strung up by his tail.
   Dorothy throws a bucket of water on the Witch She pulls the fire alarm, causing sprinklers to go off
   When the Witch melts, she becomes a puddle on the floor When she melts, she gets flushed down the toilet
   The Wizard is revealed to be a premiere balloonist from Omaha, Nebraska The Wiz is a failed politician from Atlantic City, New Jersey
