In the Book In the Movie
   At the hospital, Ponyboy hugs Sodapop and Darry together. Ponyboy hugs Sodapop first then Darry.
   Dally is extremely upset when he learns about the severity of Johnny's condition. Dally seems only slightly bothered by Johnny's condition.
   Dally gets shot once, and he drops dead instantly Dally gets shot multiple times and dies slower
   After Ponyboy runs into the burning church to save the kids, when he comes back out, Dally slaps him on the back and knocks him out. Ponyboy just goes out cold.
   There is not a lot of profanity or it is not as violent profanity. The profanity is very prominent and violent.
   in the book the mom yelled at pony and dallas at the hospital in the movie she doesnt yell at them
   Johnny and Pony got jumped. Never mentioned that Pony got jumped by the Socs they just showed Johnny's scar and how he was scared/
   Dally tells Ponyboy and Johnny to "don't even dare to stick their noses outside" The boys play outside and wrestle
   The church was appeared dead and abandoned. The church was filled with animals and stables.
   Two-bit slaps Ponyboy for saying that Darry doesn’t love him This doesn’t occur
   There is a part where pony takes cherry to see a sunset THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ON THE MOVIE
   Dallas Winston's Hair is said to be blond, almost whiteish In the movie the actors hair is black
   Book: When in the rumble, Darry and his old buddy, Paul, are circling eachother. Soon Dally runs in, screaming "Hey! A rumble isn't a rumble without me (Not accurate, just an example for the quotes)" and when Darry looks over, he gets punch in the jaw by Paul. Movie: Darry and Paul still circle (I think), but Pony is the one to get socked in the head first, causing the rumble to start. (Fun fact; The actor of Pony actually passed out in real life by getting socked in the head by accident when they planned a kid to hit him)
   Ponyboy talks about how he heres Dally's whistling and that is how he woke up. Dally wakes up Ponyboy by shaking him and telling him to wake up.
   The flames on Ponyboy were on the back. The flames on Ponyboy were on the sleeve.
   Ponyboy asks in the middle of the rumble if Dally is okay. There are only loud screams and fighting in the scene.
   Toward the end, Pony and other witnesses of Bob's death are brought into court. There they are asked questions about the case (except for Pony, whose doctor has advised the judge to skip questioning about the murder). This never occurs in the movie.
   Dally has blonde hair. It is black.
   Two-bit is six feet tall. Emilio Estevez is much shorter than six feet.
   Soda and Sandy were deeply involved. This is cut out.
   Soda claims he owns a horse named Mickey Mouse. He doesn't.
   The Socs are from the west part of town and the Greasers are from the east. Socs are from the South side and the Greasers are from the North.
   Darry slaps Pony across the face when he returns home late. He pushes him up against the wall.
   This isn't described. Dally is alone when he robs the store.
   Ponyboy's teacher makes him write a story, leading him to write "The Outsiders". The teacher is never mentioned. Ponyboy writing the story seems random.
   When Johnny dies, Dally is in extreme agony but doesn't cry. Instead, he lets himself be killed by police after deliberately robbing a store. Dally cries and it is made to seem like Dally doesn't want to die after he robs the store and the police corner him.
