The Capulets and the Montagues are warring families in Italy. The two are family run corporations that are against each other.
Romeo goes to the Capulet crypt to find Juliet's body and encounters Paris there. Romeo kills him. Romeo doesn't encounter anyone at the crypt and Paris is not killed.
There's a clown in the book There's no clown
However, back in Shakespeare times the costuming he may have intended would have been Elizabethan style. Lurmann’s costumes are highly modernized. The opening scene finds the Montague boys wearing Hawaiian shirts and having unnaturally colored hair, while the Capulet’s have leather jackets and metal boots.
Romeo goes to Juliet's balcony after the masquerade ball. Both meet at Juliet's pool, and a guard almost finds Romeo.

In the movie, it would have been obvious to Romeo that Juliet was waking up as he would have felt her hand move.
