   James Ross has a biological son named Bunny. Daniel Plainview adopts the son of a miner who is killed and names him H.W.
   Ross and Eli Watkins have a relatively cordial relationship. Eli doesn't play much of a role. Daniel and Eli have a contentious relationship throughout the story.
