   The stories are presented in chronological order. The stories are intercut and presented simultaneously.
   Five major characters have a comet shaped birthmark on their shoulders. Six of the characters share a common birthmark but it is on different body parts.
   Adam Ewing and Dr. Goose have separate dinners with Mr. D’Arnoq and Reverend Horrox. The dinners are combined.
   Eva plays a large role in Frobisher's story. She is not present.
   Frobisher has an affair with Jocasta. This doesn't happen.
   Sixsmith's death is made to look like a suicide. He is murdered by Bill Smoke.
   The cover up at Swannekke was done to sell more reactors. It causes an accident to create more need for fossil fuel.
   Hillary V. Hush wrote Half lives. It was written by Luisa-Rey's neighbor, Javier.
   Timothy’s brother Denny dies. He does not.
   Chang and Boardman Mephi removed Sonmi from Papa Song’s. Hae-Joo does it.
   This doesn't happen. Sonmi is captured by Unanimity.
   Union was created by Unanimity in order to bring the people together. They are a real organization.
   Zachry is between nine and sixteen years old. Tom Hanks plays the role as an adult.
   Zachry's father is killed and his brother is kidnapped. His brother and nephew are both murdered.
   Adam Ewing lands at several islands during his voyage across the pacific ocean. Only one landing is show where he meets Dr. Goose.
   Ewing meets Horrox while he stops at an island during his long trip. He meets him at the first island.
   Adam hikes into a dormant volcano and finds several corpses. He doesn't. Zachry and Meronym find bodies during their hike.
   Ewing is on his trip to find the beneficiary of a will. He is on a trip to sell a slave.
   Vyvyan Ayrs lives in a mansion in Belgium. It is in Scotland.
   Frobisher writes letters to Sixsmith, but they are never together. They are seen together in bed.
   Luisa's mother is part of the story. She is from high society. She doesn't appear.
   Luisa and Joe confront Bill Smoke on a sailboat. This happens on the streets of San Francisco.
   Cavendish has a secretary named Mrs. Latham who helps him. She doesn't appear.
   This doesn't happen. Georgette is portrayed as having some mental problems. Timothy had an affair with Georgette, his brother's wife.
   Timothy suffers a stroke. He doesn't.
   This doesn't happen. Timothy rekindles his lost relationship with Ursula.
   Yoona-939 tells Sonmi-451 a fairy tale about Timothy Cavendish. She later watches the movie version with Hae-Joo. Yoona-939 shows Sonmi-451 the video.
   There is heavy use of a made up dialect in "Sloosha's Crossin" Many more standard english words are used to make the conversations clear. Regular english is used to converse with the home base.

   Eva discusses things with Sexsmith before being killed. Enough so that she knew something was up. The do not talk about things.
   Eva goes to the power plant for a press conference and not for an specific interview. She sneaks into Sexsmiths office while pretneding to go to the bathroom. She is on a tour and waiting near Sexsmiths office, sees it and goes in.
   Frobisher never steals the bicycle he has it lent to him by the police He steal the bike.
   Ayers wife is in the bedroom the night Ayers comes into Frobishers room to compose. There is no reference to Ayers wife in the scene.
   Timothy Cavendish does not talk to his brother when he calls from the nursing home. He talks to his sister in law. His brother died and his sister in law appears to have dementia
   Timothy Cavendish gets into an argument with his other escapees about escaping where he alludes to his Scottish friend being a drunk There is no fight.
   IN the book, en root to his 'escape destination' Timothy Cavendish stops at the house of an old girlfriend and is caught by the womans grandson. It does not happen.
   In Sloosha's Crossin Story there is no reference to trading with the Prescients or other towns Trade was important.
   In Sloosha's Crossin Story the townsfolk go on a voyage to a trade event in another town where the town is invaded and many people were killed and taken prisoner This never happened in the movie. The event appeared to take place after the Observatory event.
   There are many references to Somni and a church where religious artifacts represent souls No reference in the movie.
   In the Somni series Somni is found to be intelligent and goes to school Never happens in the book.
   In Adam Ewings story, Autua commits suicide as the Capt sexually assaults him every night. No reference in the movie.
